Carmelo Anthony got a bit of a surprise during Monday night’s game between his New York Knicks and the New Orleans Pelicans. With less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter, a young boy somehow managed to run onto the court and right up to Anthony to give him a hug.
Anthony didn’t seem phased by the moment at all, hugging the boy in return and patting him on the head before a referee led the child off the court. It seems the boy made it past both an usher and a security guard at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

After the game, the Jordan-sponsored athlete told reporters that this was the first time something like that had ever happened and that he was “very surprised.”
