Art lovers can once again step into a pair of Converse kicks featuring the work of pop artist legend Andy Warhol. The athletic brand is debuting its third collection of Warhol-inspired styles under the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Andy Warhol Footwear and Apparel Collection. The series features two of Warhol’s iconic pieces from the ’60s, the Cow wallpaper and Flowers, along with bold imagery across an array of Converse tees.
The continuing partnership between Converse and The Andy Warhol Foundation celebrates the visionary artist’s work in the high-and low-top Chuck Taylor All Stars featuring a custom graphic application of Warhol’s Cow and Flowers silkscreen artwork. The high-top is detailed with a single Cow print in bright pink against a white canvas, while the Flowers print uses poppy red against a black and white background.
Each style has a glow-in-the-dark element that pays homage to Warhol’s black light paintings. The low-top Cow sneaker stacks a repeat print on top of one another in a yellow and red pattern, while the Flowers print stacks the pattern in a natural color.

The Converse connection is not Warhol’s first brush with footwear. Back in the ’50s as a commercial artist, he did whimsical shoe designs for such labels as I. Miller shoes.
For those who want to flip through Warhol’s shoe repertoire, they can pick up a copy of “Shoes, Shoes, Shoes: The Autobiography of Alice B. Shoe” on Amazon.com . The book of Warhol’s shoe illustrations comes complete with fun sayings by the artist that include, “I decided that being a shoe salesman is a really sexy job.”
The new collection will be available on Jan. 28 at Converse retail stores and online at Converse.com. Sneakers will retail from $80 to $85, with the apparel at $35.
This week, Converse also revealed its Cons Metric CLS skate shoe and the new spring ’16 colors of the Jack Purcell Signature sneakers.
