[WATCH] Converse Releases Chuck II Ad

With today’s release of the Chuck Taylor All Star II, the upgraded and updated version of the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette, the Boston-based brand has released a video online promoting its latest shoe.

The 30-second video released by Converse, titled “Ready For More,” celebrates its core consumers – the creative types, from graffiti artists to musicians, skateboarders, extreme sports enthusiasts and more, fully engaged in what they love to do, immersed by the lifestyle that is attached to their passions.

“As we assessed our customer base, we were hearing a lot more about their active lifestyles and the things they’re doing in their day-to-day,” Damion Silver, Converse’s footwear design director for the men’s All Star, told FN prior to the shoe’s release. “We wanted to make sure we were engineering technology and comfort into this new style.”

The clip waits until the 27-second mark to display the Chuck 2 in the black high top version, one of four colors the brand produced for its initial release.

The Chuck II uses a similar silhouette to its predecessor, but features advances in construction and technology, including Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning, a perforated micro-suede lining a premium canvas upper, and a padded, elasticized, non-slip tongue.

The Chuck II is available in black, white, red and blue, with the high-top retailing for $75 and the low-top oxford retailing for $70.
