Boston brand Converse is having a London calling.
The iconic athletic brand plans to mark the 40th anniversary of the punk rock movement by releasing a limited-edition line of Chuck Taylor All Stars. The collection is dedicated to one of the pioneers of punk’s original wave, The Clash.
The Clash collaboration, which hits stores and the brand’s website Sept. 20, is inspired by the British band’s counter-culture style.
It is the latest line from Converse to pay tribute to history-defining moments or social movements.
The sneakers, which will sell for $70 to $85, feature stitch detailing and graphic overlays, along with the logo of the band on the tongue.
The Clash, known for era-defining hits such as “London Calling,” “Rock the Casbah” and “Should I Stay or Should I Go,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

According to a statement from Converse, “Clash fans can wear these sneakers as a badge of honor that applauds this seminal band and the do-it-yourself attitude that still resonates decades after its first inception.”
