Converse And Stussy Collaborate For The Surf Brand’s 35th Anniversary

Two American brands are teaming up once again. This fall, Converse and Stussy are collaborating on a limited-edition collection marking the 35th anniversary of the California surf brand. The series marks the fifth time the two labels have joined forces.

Converse will pay homage to Stussy’s graphic heritage with exclusive designs on its premium Converse Chuck ’70. Included in the offering are designs based on Stussy’s signature Tom Tom prints, complete with wavy lines, dots and zigzag,s as well as its crown emblem.

The premium, re-crafted Chuck Taylor from the ’70s in high-top and oxford silhouettes will feature a custom-engineered print layered with multi-dimensional embroidery. The result is a fabric in achromatic shades and blue hues, set against monochrome woven heel stays. The shoes come with three pairs of laces with novelty printed aglets. To make the Stussy connection even stronger, its logo is applied to the oversize tongue labels, cushioned sock liners and translucent outsoles.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Stussy 35 Collection will be available starting Friday, Aug. 28 at Stussy Chapter stores worldwide, with a general release on Friday, Sept. 4. They will retail for $130 for the high-top and $125 for the oxford.

Converse, which is known for it’s collaborations, has joined forces this year with Commes des Garçons and Italian fashion house Missoni. It’s been a busy year for the brand — in addition to multiple collaborations, it also launched the highly anticipated Chuck II, the first reincarnation of the silhouette in almost 100 years.
