Trail Blazers Star Damian Lillard Wears New Adidas Sneakers To Beat Clippers

“#NeverDoubt” Damian Lillard.

Down to the final seconds during Game 6 of his team’s NBA playoff game on Friday, the baller and his Portland Trail Blazers came out on top, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers, 106-103.

For the occasion, Lillard created a new Adidas mi D 2 sneaker design as a tribute to his team.

“I designed these on #miadidas to match our #RipCity jerseys,” the baller explained on Twitter.

The sportswear brand praised his performance on the social networking platform and highlighted the new kicks. “#NeverDoubt,” Adidas tweeted, “‪@Dame_Lillard created a new miadidas ‪#DLillard2 for Game 6.”

The footwear features a textile jacquard, suede or synthetic upper with a print of camouflage, splatter, snake, or black ice, and a metallic chrome heel counter. The sneakers cost $145, available in customizable options on the label’s website.

Though the odds were in Portland’s favor with Clippers stars Blake Griffin and Chris Paul out due to season-ending injuries, the teams were tied during the last two minutes of the game after Lillard sank two free throws. The Clippers quickly caught up with six straight points.

In the final 32 seconds of the game, the Blazers were ahead and sealed the victory after the Clippers’ Austin Rivers missed a final shot at the buzzer. The point guard was still bleeding after an injury he suffered around his eye during the first quarter. He received 11 stitches.
