Darrelle Revis Returns to Gang Green: The Football Star’s Top Nike Sneakers

When Darrelle Revis was with the New York Jets, receivers were routinely left stranded on “Revis Island” as the cornerback foiled the opposition’s game plan. Following brief stints with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defensive star is once again a member of Gang Green.

During his first six-year stint in New York, Revis became one of the rare professional football players to have his own signature shoes. While they did not resonate with the average sneaker collector, as other wildly popular signature styles did, the Nike Zoom Revis 1 was a must-have for dedicated collectors.

Here’s a look back at the more popular Revis releases.

The Inaugural “Jets” Release

The first Zoom Revis 1 hit shelves in December 2012, appropriately titled “Jets,” a hunter green-and-white colorway complete with the company’s Flywire technology and translucent outsole. In a nod to the popularity of “Revis Island,” Nike adorned the insole with the player’s jersey number, 24, along with the image of a palm tree inside the 4.

The Zoom Revis Goes Casual

Like many Nike athletes’ signature shoes, the Zoom Revis was later re-released with a casual makeover. In August 2013, the sneaker giant came out with the Zoom Revis TXT EX, which boasted a camouflage print on the toe box that works its way up the boot, with supple brown leather dominating the upper and surrounding the toe box, plus orange accents.

Special Edition Trainer 1 for Revis

Bo Jackson, arguably the most exciting football player of his era to watch, was the face of Nike’s Trainers, so it’s only fitting that this generation’s most exciting defensive field athlete was awarded his own edition of the iconic sneaker. Nike released the Trainer 1 “Revis Island” in December 2012. The shoe was predominantly black, which allowed the bright crimson “24 Revis Island” logo on the back and crimson accents along the tongue, strap and outsole to stand out.
