Derrick Rose Returns From Injury in D Rose 5 Boost Woven

Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose returned from a right knee injury Wednesday night in a 105-103 loss on the road to the Orlando Magic. Rose scored 9 points in 19 minutes on the court in his return.

“I felt good, I didn’t feel any discomfort at all, so that’s a good sign. I’m waiting to see how tomorrow is,” Rose told reporters in the locker room after the game.

The Adidas-sponsored baller took the court in the D Rose Boost 5 Woven in scarlet, white and black, the “Brenda” edition, paying homage to his mother by keeping the shoe predominantly in her favorite color – red. This version of his signature shoe hit stores Feb. 5 and retails for $140.

The one-time MVP resembled his typical explosive self at times in the game, most noticeably in the third quarter where he ran the length of the court, weaving through defenders to finish strong at the rim with a layup.

Rose missed nearly six weeks this season after tearing the meniscus in his right knee, his second right knee injury as a pro. The guard tore the ACL in his left knee during the first game of the 2011-12 NBA Playoffs, which forced him to sit out the entire 2012-13 season. When he returned for the 2013-14 season, he was once again forced to sit out after tearing the meniscus in his right knee after playing only 10 games.

The Bulls currently hold the fourth playoff seed and would face the Washington Wizards, if the season were to end today. Chicago has four regular season games remaining on the schedule; two games on the road against the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets, and two at home against the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks.
