Drake Responds to Blackface Photo, But Remains Quiet on Possible Adidas Line

Pusha T dealt Drake a devastating blow with his “The Story of Adidon” song, but it was the accompanying blackface cover art that garnered the first response from the Canadian rapper-singer.

“This was not from a clothing brand shoot or my music career. This picture was from 2007, a time in my life when I was an actor and I was working on a project that was about young black actors struggling to get roles, being stereotyped and typecast,” Drake wrote in an Instagram statement Wednesday.

While the “God’s Plan” artist acknowledged the photo, he did not reply to other claims made by Pusha T, including a possible Adidas line named after an illegitimate son named Adonis, who he is rumored to have with adult film star Sophie Brussaux.

“Adonis is your son, and he deserves more than an Adidas press run. That’s real,” Pusha T rapped in “The Story of Adidon.” (Pusha T is an Adidas ambassador and has four collaborations with the brand.)
