How To Get The Air Jordan VII ‘Alternate’ This Weekend

One of Tinker Hatfield’s forgotten sketches will become a reality this weekend with the launch of the Air Jordan VII “Alternate.”

This patriotic colorway was one of Hatfield’s numerous pitches for an “Olympic” Air Jordan VII colorway to be worn by Michael Jordan during the historic 1992 Dream Team run in Barcelona.

Although the red, white, blue and gold color scheme here is similar to the original “Olympic” look that made it to retailers, the 2016 “Alternate” execution uses more navy blue and a gradient pattern that wasn’t seen on the 1992 version.

Now, with the 2016 Rio Olympics opening ceremony taking place tonight, Jordan Brand couldn’t have picked a better time to release this colorway.

The Air Jordan VII “Alternate” is priced at $190 and will be released on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET via Nike SNKRS.

If you’re seeking to obtain a pair in store, the sneakers will be available from select Jordan Brand retailers nationwide including Foot Locker and Footaction.
