Kobe Bryant, the NBA great who retired from basketball in April, shows no signs of leaving the sport behind.
The former Los Angeles Laker kicked off a multicity tour in Europe this week to promote the game and Nike Basketball product.
Bryant began the tour Thursday, making his first stop in Hilversum, a city in the Netherlands.
The goal of the tour, according to a Nike statement, is “to inspire and engage young athletes while affirming Bryant’s legacy as a dedicated teacher and relentless innovator.”
Bryant visited a local public gym, where he spoke with kids ranging in age from 9 to 18, to share stories from his final game — he scored 60 points on April 13.

Bryant, who lived in Europe as a child, talked earlier this month about his new path as a business entrepreneur and the Nike legacy.
“What we’ve done is try to build a business that’s based on innovation and performance instead of an individual,” Bryant said at the Variety and Sports Illustrated Sports and Entertainment Summit in Los Angeles.
