Michael Jordan autographed memorabilia is a popular auction item, and both fans of the basketball icon and collectors alike will have the ability to purchase a one-of-a-kind shoe. Jordan’s autographed, game-worn sneakers from the 1984 Olympics are for sale.
What will look unfamiliar to some is the lack of Jumpman logo or Nike insignia on the shoe. The shoes Jordan wore during the games were Converse, as the guard was not yet in the NBA, with the Olympic Games taking place one year before his rookie season and his signing a contract with Nike.
The auction, which is presented by New York-based Grey Flannel Auctions, ends June 24. The minimum bid for the autographed shoes is $50,000.
The 1984 Olympic team was compiled of amateurs, with some moving on to play in the NBA. Jordan, elected to the NBA Hall of Fame in 2009, played alongside future hall-of-famers Patrick Ewing and Chris Mullen.

Rare Jordan sneakers in auctions have made headlines before. An autographed pair worn by Jordan during the 1984-85 season, before having his own signature shoe with Nike, sold in an auction held by SCP Auctions for $71,553. Terry Melia, PR and marketing manager for SCP Auctions, predicted the shoes would sell for more than $50,000 prior to the auction.
