Michael Jordan’s championship-winning ways didn’t start when he became a professional; they started in college. The iconic guard famously netted the game-winning shot for North Carolina against a tough Georgetown team in the final game of the 1982 NCAA tournament.
While the game-winning shot stung for the moment, the Hoyas’ animosity toward Jordan and the Tar Heels didn’t last long. The team now wears jerseys manufactured by the Jordan brand, and a famous NBA guard who was noticed worldwide while playing college ball for Georgetown – Allen Iverson – famously wore the Jordan XIs during the university’s 1996 tournament run before losing to UMass in the Elite Eight round.
On Saturday, the low-top version of Jordan’s classic signature shoe – the Air Jordan XI, boasting the colors of his onetime college rival — will hit shelves.

The sneaker boasts the definitive Hoyas’ team colors — a mostly grey mist upper with a white and icy outsole, separated by navy patent leather that wraps around the body of the sneaker.
For men, the Air Jordan XI low will retail for $170; for boy’s grade school sizes, $120; and for toddler sizes, $55.
