It’s been thirty years since Nike launched All Conditions Gear (ACG) and to celebrate the huge milestone, the Swoosh is bringing back one of the outdoor-focused line’s original sneaker releases.
Making its return next month is the Nike ACG Air Mowabb “Twine,” which is a style that debuted in 1991. Designed by the industry veteran Tinker Hatfield, the silhouette was created to handle all of the different elements that hikers may experience on the trails but this forthcoming release features new details making it more comfortable than the original drop.
The suede and nubuck upper don a light brown hue that’s combined with a bold teal neoprene ankle collar and a black heel counter providing a secured fit. Subtle branding is applied throughout the shoe including a mini Swoosh logo on the toe box, the ACG logo on the collar, and Nike Air branding on the heel. According to Nike, this version of the shoe is equipped with a softer foam midsole compared to its predecessor, making it even more comfortable on the trails.
“Thirty years later, this Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette has stood the test of time. If anything, its longevity is starting to test time itself—how can an outdoors-inspired sneaker designed in 1991 still hold up today? Classic stylings with today’s touches,” Nike wrote for the shoe’s product description.

The Nike ACG Air Mowabb “Twine” will be released via SNKRS at 10 a.m. ET on Sept. 3 for a retail price of $160. In addition, another original makeup of the shoe dubbed “Rattan Birch” is also launching on the same day via the app.
