Today’s NBA fans might be familiar with Charles Barkley from his hilarious antics on “NBA on TNT,” but Nike‘s making sure that hoops fans don’t forget Sir Charles’ storied sneaker legacy on the court.
Nike Sportswear, the division of the Swoosh that specializes in retro and lifestyle product, just reissued Barkley’s Air Max CB 34 sneakers in their original “Phoenix Suns” (aka “Godzilla”) colorway.

The mid-’90s basketball sneakers feature a black upper composed of leather and nubuck, with teeth-like white accents across the midsole, white branding, and touches of purple on the forefoot strap, tongue, and heel.

The outsole of the Nike Air Max CB 34 has what is arguably the sneaker’s most defining feature — a scrawl reading “Sir Charles” in orange across both shoes.

This Nike Air Max CB 34 colorway was originally released in 1995 and was last seen during a retro release in 2007. This particular style has been nicknamed “Godzilla,” a reference to a famous Nike commercial starring Charles Barkley from 1992.
The retro Charles Barkley shoe can be found now on nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers nationwide, retailing for $140.
