Nike Reveals Uniforms For College Football Playoff Teams

Nike sure knows how to pick ’em. The athlete juggernaut scored a win on Sunday when the College Football Playoff selection committee announced the four teams that will compete for the championship title — and all four are Nike-sponsored teams.

The contenders include the Clemson Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan State Spartans and Oklahoma Sooners, all of whom will be outfitted in new uniforms for the big games.

Nike, which is also the official outfitter for the CFP, announced today that the teams will wear specially designed Nike Mach Speed uniforms featuring a fractal diamond Swoosh on the front of the jersey and pant, as well as the new Nike Football Vapor Jet 4.0 gloves.

The athletic brand was mum on the players’ footwear, but last year, it debuted the Nike Vapor Untouchable cleats for the playoff games, so it’s likely that another on-the-field innovation could be in the works for this year’s series.

Look for the shoe to make its debut on Dec. 31, when No. 1 Clemson faces off against No. 4 Oklahoma at the Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami, while No. 2 Alabama takes on No. 3 Michigan State at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic in Arlington, Texas.

The national championship game will be held on Jan. 11 at the University of Phoenix Stadium at 8:30 p.m. ET.
