Nike Kobe 11 ‘Carpe Diem’ Drops Saturday

Kobe Bryant may be finished with basketball, having dropped 60 points on April 13 in his final game in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers, but Nike isn’t finished with dropping new colorways of his final on-court signature shoe, the Kobe 11. The next iteration of the shoe is scheduled to hit stores this weekend.

The Nike Kobe 11 “Carpe Diem” arrives in stores Saturday and will retail for $160. The shoe will be available via SNKRS, nike.com and select Nike retailers.

The colorway, according to the brand, was inspired by the Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Carpe Diem,” which hit stores in 2009. The shoe features a predominantly black upper with university gold and court purple Swoosh branding, white Flywire cable eyelets, a black and university gold collar, and court purple on the heels. The shoe is completed with an icy translucent outsole.

Nike revealed the Kobe 11 in December, debuting in the “Achilles Heel” iteration that hit stores on Jan. 9. The low-cut shoe, designed by Eric Avar, features Nike’s latest iteration of its Flyknit technology. During his final game — a 101-96 win over the Utah Jazz — Bryant wore a black and gold iteration of the shoe, and Nike released the Kobe 11 Mamba Day iD via its website for fans to buy prior to tipoff.
