Nike To Release Oregon-Themed Free Trainer 5.0 V6 On Wednesday

There’s no doubt that Nike Chairman and co-founder Phil Knight is fond of his alma mater, the University of Oregon. The school’s sports teams have received the brand’s latest and greatest footwear and apparel — and will have a new training shoe dedicated to them this week.

The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 V6 Oregon will hit stores on Wednesday, with a $110 retail price tag.

The shoe’s upper is kelly green and black with a metallic silver swoosh near the heel. The outsole is predominantly white, with hints of black and kelly green. The Free Trainer 5.0 V6, a training shoe built for hitting the gym for off-the-field workouts, boasts the brand’s Flywire cables for support, abrasion-resistant rubber on the heel and toe for durability, a low-profile Phylite midsole and a minimal molded sock liner.

The Oregon’s colorway also features the university’s logo and the words “Win The Day” on the inside of the tongue. The shoe hits stores in time for the football season, which kicks off for the Ducks on Sept. 5, when they take on Eastern Washington. The Pac-12 powerhouse has been ranked anywhere from third to seventh in college football analysts’ pre-season polls.
