Oboz Sponsors Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival’s Tour

Bozeman, Montana-based outdoor footwear brand Oboz has announced that it is now a sponsor of the 40th Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival’s 2016 Radical Reels Tour and a presenting sponsor of the Radical Reels People’s Choice Award.

The festival will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 8 at the Banff Centre in Banff, Canada, and will present mountain culture through film, photography and literature. The People’s Choice Award will be presented Nov. 8 and given to the most popular of the new high adrenaline outdoor action films debuting at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival.

Following the initial event, the tour will take off, visiting more than 65 locations across North America and internationally. Many of the stops are hosted by local organizations with benefits given to not-for-profit and community organizations.

At the festival, more than 75 films will be presented, with audience members being offered the opportunity to meet, ask questions and learn from the best climbers, photographers, writers and explorers in the world. This year, the festival will features climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell as headline presenters; paragliders Will Gadd and Gavin McClurg; the first person to ski the Seven Summits, Kit Deslauriers; alpinist writers Kelly Cordes and Simone Moro; the first woman to climb Mt. Everest without supplementary oxygen, Lydia Bradey; and more.
