The Oklahoma City Thunder survived the play of the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night at the AT&T Center in San Antonio – led by a stellar performance by Jordan Brand-sponsored Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge – to tie its second-round playoff series at 1-1. But it didn’t pull off the win without a bit of late-game controversy.
Dion Waiters of Oklahoma City — wearing the blue and white colorway from the Nike Kobe 11 Muse Pack — attempted to make an inbound pass with 13.5 seconds left in the game when he shoved San Antonio defender Manu Ginobili (wearing the Nike KD8), who was guarding closely. That should have been called an offensive foul, and possession of the ball would have changed to the Spurs. But the refs did not call any fouls, and the Thunder went on to win.

After the game, the refs admitted to incorrectly not calling an offensive foul.
“On the floor, we did not see a foul on the play,” NBA referee Ken Maurer said postgame to reporter Mike Monroe of The Rivard Report. “However, upon review we realize and we agree that we should have had an offensive foul on the play. It’s a play that we have never seen before, ever, but we feel we should have had an offensive foul on Waiters.”
The game’s chaotic finish overshadowed the performances of Oklahoma City’s two superstars, Jordan Brand-sponsored Russell Westbrook and Nike-sponsored Kevin Durant. Westbrook, wearing an orange and white player’s edition of the Air Jordan XXX, scored 29 points on 11-of-25 shooting, also dishing out 10 assists. Durant dropped 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting in a blue and orange pair of his signature shoe, the KD8, also grabbing seven rebounds.
Aldridge — wearing a white and black Jordan Ultra.Fly — scored 41 points on 15-of-21 shooting for the Spurs in the loss.
