A Pair of LeBron James-Worn Sneakers From 2008 Is Selling for $3,000

A pair of game-worn LeBron James shoes are up for auction with a reserve bid amount starting at $3,000. These Nike Lebron 6 shoes, autographed by James, are from his 2008-09 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Nike Zoom Lebron 6 was released in 2008, drawing inspiration from the Nike Air Force 1 High. The shoes, featuring a red and white colorway, are signed on its white toe piece in black Sharpie. James wore the size 16 sneakers on Dec. 12, 2008, when he led the Cavaliers to an 88-72 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. He scored 28 points. This was the 11th straight win for the Cavaliers at the time.

The basketball star left the Cavaliers and joined the Miami Heat for the 2010-2011 season. James returned to his hometown team again in 2014 and won the 2016 NBA championship in June. It was the Cavaliers’ first NBA title in franchise history; they overcame a 3-1 deficit to beat the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

The auction ends on Oct. 28.
