Peyton Manning, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever wear an NFL uniform, has called it a career.
The Tennessee Volunteers product was the first overall draft pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, and he did not disappoint while wearing the blue and white. Manning won a title for the AFC franchise in 2007, leading his team to victory over the Chicago Bears 29-17 during Super Bowl XLI. The quarterback won his first of two titles wearing black and white Reebok cleats, which featured the athletic label’s “vector” branding on the upper.
Manning completed 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards with one touchdown pass and open interception. He was also named the game’s MVP.
Although it took almost a decade to win another championship, he would win his second title this past season with the Denver Broncos, taking snaps under center during Super Bowl 50.

Manning, wearing a white and black pair of the Nike Code Pro 3/4, completed 13 of 23 passes for 141 yards and one interception. The quarterback and his Broncos team took down the Carolina Panthers, 24-10.
The son of NFL great Archie Manning – while hitting the gridiron in the Swoosh and the vector – achieved some monumental feats, including winning four AFC Championship games, being named the league’s MVP five times, being named to 14 Pro Bowl teams (and being named the game’s MVP in 2005) and earning the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year nod two times, among many others.
Manning holds a plethora of NFL records that could be argued makes him one of the best, if not the best, quarterback to ever play the game. He has the most career touchdown passes in league history (539), most career passing yards (71,940), most touchdown passes in a single season (55) and the most passing yards in a single season (5,477).
He is set to make his official retirement announcement today at 1 p.m. EST.
