Stephen Curry Switches Under Armour Shoes During Game 5 Win Over Portland

Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors closed out the Portland Trail Blazers last night with a 125-121 win at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., advancing to the Western Conference Finals. The two-time MVP guard hit the court for Game 5 with a bit of nostalgia on his feet.

To begin the game, Curry wore the limited-edition MVP iteration of his first-ever signature shoe, the Under Armour Curry One, boasting a white, black and gold color palette. The shoe is part of the Baltimore-based athletic brand’s Curry MVP Back 2 Back Pack, which also features a black, yellow and gold iteration of his latest signature shoe, the Curry Two.

In the second half, while down to Portland 63-58, Curry opted to wear a more recent silhouette. He switched to a blue, white and yellow colorway of his Under Armour 2.5. The latest Curry shoe (retailing at $135) drops on UA.com and Foot Locker on May 28, with a worldwide release to follow on July 1.

Curry dropped 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting, including going 5-of-11 from long range. He also had 11 assists and five rebounds in the win. But Curry wasn’t Golden State’s top scorer Wednesday night. Fellow “Splash Brother” Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 33 points on 13-of-17 shooting, nailing 6-of-9 3-pointers. Thompson wore a blue, yellow and white colorway of his Anta KT signature shoe.

Curry and the Warriors will face the winner of the series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City leads the series 3-2.
