Under Armour Moves Curry One Father to Son Release to Today

With the MVP edition of the Curry One, Under Armour’s signature shoe for Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, selling out on Saturday, the brand has moved the release date of the shoe’s next edition, Father to Son, to today.

The shoe has a retail price tag of $120.

The Father to Son features the teal-and-purple team colors of the Charlotte Hornets, which Curry’s father, Dell, played on for 10 years — the majority of his professional career — becoming a prolific scorer for the team. To pay homage to Dell Curry’s time with the Hornets, the shoe’s upper is predominantly purple, with teal on the toe bumper, tongue and liner. The outsole is also purple and teal with a white-and-black speckled pattern on the bottom and front.

The MVP colorway, released on June 13, sold out within hours. The shoe featured a black-to-white gradient pattern on the upper, with a gold Under Armour logo on the side and the Curry logo on the tongue. It had a white outsole, with gold appearing toward the midsole and heel.

The Golden State superstar has accomplished something his father did not: becoming an NBA champion. The Warriors defeated the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers in six games, winning its first NBA title in 40 years. The guard averaged 28.3 points per game throughout the playoffs.
