In preparation for the severe weather the upcoming season brings, Vans has released a few of its silhouettes with cold and wet in mind. Its Mountain Edition collection, in stores now, features two of the brand’s best-known shoes in materials built to withstand the elements.
The brand used its Old Skool MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE silhouettes in natural tones for the collection, with retail prices ranging from $75 to $80. All of the Mountain Edition shoes feature Scotchgard-coated uppers, warm linings and a heat-retaining layer between the sock liner and the outsole.
For men, both the Old Skool MTE and Sk8-Hi MTE silhouettes are available in three colorways: tonal black leather, honey leather and pewter wool. The same colorways are available for women in both silhouettes, plus two more color options for women — black and khaki — with suede uppers and woven chevron-collar detailing in the Sk8-Hi MTE.

In addition to the footwear, the brand released treated Mountain Edition outerwear garments — some featuring PrimaLoft for warmth, breathability and water resistance — including water-repellant jackets and shirts.
