The Women’s World Cup in Canada is underway, and the U.S. Women’s National Team is off to a good start, having won its first match 3-1 against Australia. The team – with the exceptions of Lauren Holiday, Becky Sauerbrunn and Morgan Brian– is decked head-to-toe in Nike, including their cleats.
Most of the team is wearing the Mercurial Superfly FG, a cleat with a Dynamic Fit collar and one-piece upper without a tongue, made for an attacking striker. For a barefoot feel optimal in both wet and dry conditions, the upper utilizes three of the brand’s technologies, including Flyknit, NikeSkin and All Conditions Control.
Some of the team has opted to wear cleats other than the Mercurial Superfly FG, choosing the Tiempo Legend V FG, the Magista Obra FG, and the Hypervenom Phantom II FG.
The Mercurial Superfly FG, Tiempo Legend V FG, the Magista Obra FG, and Hypervenom Phantom II FG are all currently available with a $275 retail price tag, with the exception of the Tiempo Legend V FG, which retails for $200.

Holiday, sponsored by Under Armour, is wearing a limited edition USA-themed edition of the brand’s ClutchFit Force FG, complete with Trivela performance microfiber upper and rubberized 3-D printed external layer. The cleat will be available by week’s end on the Under Armour website for $175.
Sauerbrunn, sponsored by Adidas, took the pitch in the opening matchup in the brand’s X15 cleat, and Brian, also sponsored by Adidas, played in the Ace15. The X15 features the brand’s Techfit Collar for ankle support and fit, its X-Claw base for traction, and three-layered X-Skin for optimal performance regardless of field or weather conditions. The Ace15 is built for the player in need of a cleat that will handle excellent ball control, utilizing the brand’s Control Web and NSG skin.
The team will face Sweeden on Friday, with its third match of the first round coming June 16 against Nigeria.
