A Ma Maniére has officially announced the second half of its Air Jordan 5 pack, as the “Dawn” colorway will be followed by “Dusk” before the month ends.
As the name might suggest, this second AJ5 variant features a largely black color scheme to counter the predominately white version that had already been announced and is releasing this week. The dark shade consumes most of the sneaker, as a translucent yellow TPU window, lower tongue, and outsole match those of the “Dawn” colorway. The former two elements remain the central features, as they take on a custom monogram pattern for the Atlanta-based boutique.
Continuing the connection between the two sneakers is the same upper half of the tongue appearing in silver with black mismatched branding across the two sneakers. The rest of the shoe’s branding also takes on black for a tonal look, while the silhouette’s famous fighter jet-inspired teeth on the midsole now appear in burgundy. Distinct to this half of AMM’s AJ5 pack is the boutique’s name appearing inside the heel’s Air bubble.

In the initial announcement for the collection, A Ma Maniére founder James Whitner referenced Maya Angelou and James Baldwin while giving the following quote via press release: “Black identity is not a monolith and the Black experience isn’t uniform. It is our diversity that is our strength, we are unified in more ways than the world wants us to believe. All our previous stories led into this moment, building this first chapter we now bring to a close by opening our arms out to the world to bring us all in, across our communities, the diaspora and the world to celebrate unity and culture — but also the one common experience we all have: being desired for your culture, never being told that you belong, but still showing up to do the work — from dusk til dawn.”
The A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5 “Dusk” will release on Black Friday, Nov. 24, through the boutique’s website. A raffle for the opportunity to purchase is open now through Nov. 11. Pricing for the sneaker is set at $225.
