The Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal Reimagined’ Is Slated for a November Release

One of the original Air Jordan 1 High colorways is set to return in November, albeit with a slight twist. As part of the nascent “Reimagined” series, the AJ1’s OG “Royal” variant is getting a reissue with a new suede construction.

Official images have now surfaced for the Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined,” which is one of the most anticipated sneaker releases for the remainder of the year. The arrangement of blue and black remains the same as it has since 1985, only with suede now taking over the entirety of the upper instead of smooth leather.

Although the “Reimagined” series began in earnest in late-2022, there’s a longer history of reissuing beloved colorways with new materials. The Air Jordan 1 “Bred” has been released in patent leather and satin versions, the latter of which was limited to just 501 pairs in 2016 and is now returning this month in women’s and kids’ sizing only — although, for some reason, the newest version isn’t joining the “Reimagined” series.

Officially speaking, the “Reimagined” series began with the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” getting a faux-aged treatment nicknamed “Lost and Found” in November 2022. The Air Jordan 3 “White Cement” then followed in March with similar vintage sensibilities, but the upcoming AJ1 “Royal” breaks the trend while joining the same series.

Watch on FN

The Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” has been widely reported for a Nov. 4 release date, although no confirmation has yet come from Jordan Brand or any other retailers. Official images suggest the sneakers will keep to the schedule, and you can expect stock through the SNKRS app and select retailers. Retail will be set at $180.
