Sneakerheads love their “Wheat” colorways for fall, and returning in November is one of the more celebrated sneakers to don the colorway.
Official images have now surfaced for the Air Jordan 13 “Wheat,” a non-OG colorway for the model that is nonetheless rich with history. The Timberland boot-esque colorway debuted in 2004 as both the first retro release for the model, which launched in 1997, and the first deviation from the seven colorways that defined the 13’s original run. Although they’re the norm today, more lifestyle-oriented makeups were still relatively new for Jordans during the time period — and the Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” was one of the shoes that proved the shoes would still work while catering more to off-court than on.
This year’s Air Jordan 13 “Wheat” will release will mark the first time the sneaker has returned since its debut nearly 20 years ago. The colorway has since gone on to decorate a variety of other Air Jordans, and a 2017 variant of the Air Jordan 13 allowed the namesake color to fully consume the upper instead of balancing with white.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 13 took inspiration from Michael Jordan‘s “black cat” nickname. The sole unit’s shape takes after a panther’s paws, while the holographic jewel beneath the color and on the outsole invokes a cat’s eyes.
The Air Jordan 13 has been widely reported for a Nov. 21 release, which would put it just ahead of all the Black Friday riffraff. Expect availability through the SNKRS app and select retailers, with a price of $200.
