Brain Dead has pared down the Adidas Stan Smith for a super limited collaboration pegged to Wimbledon.
The Brain Dead x Adidas Stan Smith “Unstructured” will release this weekend exclusively in London. As the name suggests, the sneaker has been stripped of the majority of its features. An unlined supple cow leather has been used for the upper in its staple white and green colorway, making the shoe malleable and subject to take a unique shape over time. The Three Stripes motif has been replaced by Brain Dead’s perforated head logo, while the left and right mustaches are mismatched in patent leather and a grass-like material with exposed stitching. Raw laces also feature green trim with Brain Dead’s name on the tips.
Brain Dead and Adidas first began collaborating earlier this year and have begun a pattern of releasing shoes on a limited basis. Their debut effort, a pair of functional bowling shoes, was only doled out to friends and family in January before getting a wider release in June. And even though the Stan Smith will be limited to two locations in London, Brain Dead’s Instagram caption referring to the “OG” colorway as exclusive to the city suggests an additional variant could be on the way with wider availability.

Just this week, Adidas also launched a new version of the Stan Smith retooled for cycling. The iconic tennis shoe is nearing its 60th anniversary, having first launched in 1965 as the Robert Haillet before being renamed for Stan Smith in 1978. Smith is still involved in the marketing of the shoe to this day and appeared in the campaign for the VeloStan Smith cycling sneaker.
The Brain Dead x Adidas Stan Smith “Unstructured” will first release Saturday, July 6, at an event Brain Dead is hosting at the Cumberland Lawn Tennis Club in London. An additional drop will then follow the next day at Dover Street Market London. Pricing for the sneakers has not yet been announced.
