Converse and Turnstile Team Up on Sneaker Capsule Collection Inspired by ‘Glow On’

Converse has teamed up with Turnstile to debut a two-sneaker capsule.

The collection pays homage to the Baltimore-based band’s 2021 hard rock album “Glow On,” which awarded them Grammy nominations for their songs, “Blackout” and “Holiday.”

Combining Turnstile’s distant aesthetic and passion for skateboarding, Converse reimagined two iconic silhouettes, the Chuck 70 and One Star Pro. The capsule is designed with custom details inspired by their album and tour art. Both silhouettes are created with a co-branded tongue and license plate and a CX foam liner for added comfort.

The Blackout Chuck 70 features a black canvas upper accompanied by silver eyelets with acid-wash laces, matching the rubber sole. The silhouette is also paired with translucent details and a reflecting floating orb graphic on the side of the high-top sleeve.

As the second part of the collection, the Only One Star Pro features a white leather silhouette with a red multi-star logo on the side of the lace-up closure. The low-top sneakers take inspiration from the band’s album artwork with a foxing tape embossed with the band’s lyrics, “Can’t Be The Only One”. The shoes are completed with a white rubber sole and an insole that has a pink lettering in a circular style reading the band’s name.

To promote the collaboration, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory directed a video featuring the band members using the Converse sneakers to pump up a large pink balloon of one of their album’s graphics.

In the past, Converse has collaborated with a variety of bands and solo acts including The Clash, Kurt Cobain and Big Sabbath.

The limited-edition collection with Turnstile will be available on the brand’s website and in select stores globally on Jan. 25.
