Drake’s Nike Nocta Glide Sneaker Will Release Ahead of His New Album

Drake may be in the middle of a tour, but the road isn’t the only place his presence will be felt this month. The artist’s long-awaited Nike Nocta Glide sneaker is finally getting its release next week, arriving just in time for his For All the Dogs album to drop a week later.

Much like the Hot Step Air Terra, the Glide is a model exclusive to Drake’s Nocta line that borrows heavily from Nike‘s basketball heritage. Its sole unit is a dead ringer for the Zoom Flight 95, a silhouette closely associated with Jason Kidd and featuring bulbous pods on the midsole. Despite having the appearance of carbon fiber in many colorways, these “bug eyes” are actually made of TPU and help stablize the foot at the midfoot and heel.

The Nocta Glide recreates the carbon fiber look with a matching weave pattern on the upper that’s more unique to the model and is surrounded with reflective piping. Black mesh then forms the rest of the upper and tongue with flag-like rubber panels anchoring the tongue and spelling out “Nike.” Drake’s Nocta logo appears in a bubble on the tongue, and a translucent blue outsole hosts yellow sections for reinforced traction.

The Hot Step Air Terra hasn’t had much fanfare, and pairs can still be bought at retail well past its release date. Noise around the Glide has been more positive, though, and could start to reverse the trend of Drake’s sneakers, perhaps surprisingly, being passed over despite his superstar status.

The black-and-white iteration of Drake’s Nocta Glide will reportedly release Sept. 14 through the Nocta site before getting a wider release the following day through the SNKRS app and other select retailers. pricing is set at $160.
