Jeff Staple Is Auctioning Three of His Own “Pigeon” Nike SB Dunks on eBay for Charity

Jeff Staple has pulled from his own archives for a special eBay auction raising money for charity. Forty-seven different items are up for bidding, including sneakers, streetwear, and other collectables that Staple either made himself or acquired as an enthusiast in his own right.

The clear and obvious highlights are three of the four “Panda” Nike SB Dunks that Staple has released, including an unworn, bamboo box-edition pair of the Nike SB Dunk “Pigeon Panda” from 2019. As the third successor to the beloved and infamous “NYC Pigeon” Dunk from 2005 — which quite literally caused a riot — the “Pigeon Panda” puts Staple’s signature bird logo atop the staple black and white colorway (no pun intended). A translucent outsole then hosts a collage underneath paying homage to the New York Post front page headline from the first “Panda” Dunk release. Today, resale prices for the special-box version of the “Pigeon Panda” hover around the $1,700 mark.

Also up for bidding is a pre-worn pair of the “Purple Pigeon” SB Dunks, the second entry of the “Pigeon” series that arrived in 2006, as well as the “Black Pigeon” SB Dunks from 2017. Although they aren’t brand-new, both pairs are still in excellent shape.

Other Stapes collaborations in the lot include some of his Puma sneakers, a Bearbrick, NFL windbreaker, and Nike apparel. The collection also includes several pairs of hyped sneakers acquired by Staple over the past two decades. Among the highlights are the blue Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High from 2003, the red Blazer from the same two collaborators in 2006, and the Nike Air Max 90 “DQM Bacon” from 2004.

“For nearly three decades, eBay has been the place to shop the streetwear and sneakers that you truly
can’t find anywhere else,” Staple said in a release. “Streetwear culture wouldn’t be what it is today without the community that the marketplace has fostered, and it’s been really fun to comb through my personal archives to put together a collection of items that enthusiasts would be excited about.”

Bidding for all the items is open now through Oct. 8. All of the proceeds will go to Art Start, which encourages artistic expression among marginalized communities in New York City and Milwaukee, and Welcome to Chinatown, which supports businesses and communities in the NYC neighborhood.
