LG Styler is kicking off the fall season with its first forays into shoe care.
During ComplexCon 2023 in Long Beach, Calif., the LG Electronics clothing care and cleaning brand revealed its Styler Objet Collection ShoeCare and ShoeCase in the U.S., complete with a colorful game show-themed booth hosted by Jeff Staple. For the occasion, the Staple designer mused on his top sneaker cleaning advice.
“There are sprays that they sell that waterproof the shoe prior so you can protect it — that’s actually 90% of the battle, because if you waterproof, you actually can wipe it off easier,” Staple exclusively told FN‘s Charlie Carballo.
The designer also advised that owning “beater” sneakers — everyday, often beaten-up sneakers — is key when inclement weather strikes, in addition to using affordable Mr. Clean Magic Sponges.

“Most important, you got to have a beater,” Staple said. “It rains, it snows sometimes, you got to have a go-to beater to go with it.”
The LG ShoeCare and ShoeCase can be used for a range of footwear styles, according to a 2022 brand statement. The device utilizes the company’s signature absorbent Zeo-Dry filters to remove odors and moisture, as well as its adjustable Moving Nozzle to keep shoe insoles dry. LG has also incorporated its TrueSteam technology to care for shoes depending on their materials and heights — which can also be accomplished with up to four pairs of shoes in 37 minutes.
ComplexCon, held in Long Beach, Calif. from Nov. 18 to 19, is a culture festival highlighting innovative fashion, food, music and more. This year’s event featured market displays from Crocs, eBay, Marc Jacobs and Anti Social Social Club x Fragment and more, as well as performances including Lil Yachty, YG and Kid Cudi.
