The Jordan Zion 3 ‘Sanctuary’ Will Release Friday With Only 500 Numbered Pairs

The Jordan Zion 3 is getting its most limited release yet, as just 500 pairs are set to release in the “Sanctuary” colorway.

Zion Williamson debuted the sneaker Wednesday night while putting up 33 points on 11-of-12 shooting in the New Orleans Pelicans home win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The release of the black Zion 3 featuring a colorful gradient will be exclusive to one of Sneaker Politics‘ New Orleans stores.

The shoe itself, which hasn’t yet been shown in any official images, is rendered primarily in black, save for an aurora-like gradient that runs from pink to blue with shades of orange and purple mixed in. Each of the 500 pairs will come numbered and will come along with significant freebies.

Sneaker Politics‘ Decatur Street store is hosting a two-day activation for the Zion 3 “Sanctuary” launch. Friday will feature a pre-game party for the Pelicans game with complimentary drinks and Jordan Brand jersey customization with purchase of the shoe. Saturday will then include a Q&A session with the rapper Curren$y, an “NBA 2K” tournament with more than $1,000 in prizes, and free flash tattoos with purchase of the sneaker.

Williamson’s third signature sneaker made its debut in September with a focus on containment, court feel and impact protection. The drop-in midsole sees a forefoot Zoom Air Unit hosted within Formula 23 fore responsive cushioning and absorption of the famous force with which Williamson plays. Jordan Brand shaved the stack height to the lowest yet for a Zion sneaker, so as to make the player feel more in control, and the outsole features a herringbone traction pattern.

The Jordan Zion 3 “Sanctuary” will first become available to purchase Friday exclusively at the Sneaker Politics activation. Although pricing hasn’t been officially announced, it should come in at the standard $140.
