Today, New Balance is announcing its updated Fresh Foam BB v2 basketball sneaker with some help from Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine.
The second iteration of New Balance’s performance basketball sneaker was made with input from LaVine, who’s favored the first iteration of the Fresh Foam BB as one of the brand’s star endorsers. A reconfigured dual-density Fresh Foam midsole now features softer foam directly underfoot with firmer foam on the perimeter. The outsole then features a hexagonal traction pattern for quick cuts to the basket.
The Fresh Foam BB v2’s launch colorway is “Moon Beam,” which features a suede upper and mixes creams with pink and white as a nod to LaVine’s off-court style and identity.
“This is my favorite performance shoe, hands down, and I am proud of the work I did with the design team. This is the only shoe I want to wear when I get back out on the court,” LaVine, whose ankle injury currently has him sidelined, said in a press release. “We also have some fire PE’s coming this season that I can’t wait to showcase.”

The New Balance Fresh Foam BB v2 will release Feb. 2 through New Balance’s website. Pricing is set at $130.
