New Balance Reveals the Court-Ready Two Wxy v4 Basketball Shoe

With the 2023-24 NBA season on the horizon, New Balance has revealed its newest Two Wxy basketball shoe, the franchise worn on the court by NBA champion Jamal Murray.

The newest look is the New Balance Two Wxy v4, which is slated to release before month’s end.

New Balance equipped the Two Wxy v4 with two of its acclaimed cushioning platforms: FuelCell and Fresh Foam. This pairing, New Balance explained, is the “ultimate combination of rebound and cushioning,” with FuelCell offering the wearer energy return and Fresh Foam providing cushioning for comfort during the entire game.

Aside from the cushioning, New Balance opted for a lightweight textile upper for the Two Wxy v4, the brand explained, to reduce the weight while remaining both supportive and breathable.

“The Two Wxy v4 represents our dedication to providing solutions to take our athletes to the next level,” New Balance GM for basketball design Trent Casper said in a statement. “We have combined our two key technologies of FuelCell and Fresh Foam to create a shoe that allows players to reach new heights on the court. It is not just about performance, it is about revolutionizing the game and Jamal’s play is a physical manifestation of that.”

The New Balance Two Wxy v4 arrives via Newbalance.com and select retailers on Sept. 22 and will retail for $120.

The first colorway of the Two Wxy v4 to release is “Dualism,” which New Balance said was inspired by “the two-way player and how the contrast speaks to not having weaknesses on the court.” Other colorways to launch include “My City” and “Metal Mal.” The former, New Balance said, was inspired by the retro Denver color palette through a modern lens, and the latter serves as a nod to Murray’s love for video games with metallic that “speaks to how he feels invincible when he is on a streak.”

Aside from Murray, New Balance confirmed several of its other sponsored NBA stars — Tyrese Maxey, Dejounte Murray, Darius Bazley and Aaron Nesmith — will wear the Two Wxy v 4 during the 2023 NBA preseason.
