PF Flyers Releases Retro-Inspired High-Top Sneakers for 30th Anniversary of ‘The Sandlot’

PF Flyers is taking us back to “The Sandlot” 30 years later with the drop of their limited edition, vintage-inspired design. The footwear brand dropped the 1993 Center Hi Top 30th Anniversary sneaker that features a nostalgic silhouette inspired by the classic baseball film upgraded with sustainable technology that aligns with the brand’s standards.

PF Flyers’ shoes were famously worn by Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez in the iconic film.

Retailing for $90, the timeless high-top style is comprised of durable black canvas uppers adorned with PF Flyers’ new logo in contrasting white and green made of rubber.

Additionally, the sneakers include sleek black wax-coated cotton laces threaded through silver eyelets that transition into a mesh upper lining for lasting comfort. Ortholite foam sock liners featuring 5% recycled content round out the style, providing the wearer with long-term cushioning, moisture management, and breathability. The silhouette is sat atop rubber soles equipped with non-slip tread, making for reliable wear no matter the weather.

“The Sandlot” is a 1993 American coming-of-age sports comedy film that tells the story of young baseball players set in the summer of 1962. The film is co-written, directed, and narrated by David Mickey Evans and features the likes of Patrick Renna, Mike Vitar, Marty York, Chauncey Leopardi and Tom Guiry among others. The film is widely considered a cult classic, boasting a loyal fanbase.

Founded in 1937 by B.F. Goodrich, PF Flyers, the PF standing for Posture Foundation, is an American brand of lifestyle shoes owned by Kassia Designs, LLC. It is one of the original American sneaker brands. Most recently, the footwear brand collaborated with Chill House to release three new sneaker silhouettes that coincided with Chill Houses’ popular press-on nail designs. The new sneakers are also high-top.
