Stone Island Brings Ripstop Nylon and Military Hues to Its Two New Balance 574 Legacy Sneakers

Stone Island and New Balance are returning to the 574 Legacy for their latest collaboration.

After one colorway released near the end of 2022, the Stone Island x New Balance 574 is returning with two more variants in “Light Green” and “Dark Green.” Both new colorways feature ripstop nylon for its underlays, with the majority of the overlays arriving in suede. Panels around the ankle appear in leather, and the tongue features a massive Stone Island patch. The “N” logo at midfoot is then made up of a perforated rubber.

The namesake hues for the two colorways are used for their respective suede paneling, and the minty “Light Green” is paired with mustard and grey on the upper and a two-tone white and cream midsole sitting above a grey outsole. The “Dark Green” variant features additional hits of olive and grey, and a white and green midsole is paired with a black outsole.

The 574 Legacy is differentiated from the regular 574 by a taller sole, a larger vamp and a heel that juts out farther. The Legacy edition of the sneaker also typically features more premium materials.

Stone Island and New Balance have been partners since 2021, beginning with a reimagining of the RC Elite contemporary running shoe. The Italian label was also tapped to introduce the 991v2 through a collaboration last fall for what’s been their biggest release thus far.

The Stone Island x New Balance 574 “Light Green” and “Dark Green” will release June 14 through Stone Island’s website and select boutiques. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, New Balance should also release the sneakers at a later date. Third-party retailers should also join, as BSTN has already confirmed a June 13 release. Pricing is set at $150.
