Alice + Olivia X Basquiat Capsule Collection Features Star-Splattered Espadrille Creepers

Alice + Olivia has added a touch of star power to its latest capsule collection.

The label announced Wednesday a collaboration with Jean-Michel Basquiat‘s estate inspired by the late Neo-expressionist’s most striking designs, including espadrille creepers covered in colorful, splattered stars — a favorite motif of the Andy Warhol collaborator — and a pair of bejeweled creepers.

Some of the dresses, tops, bags and accessories in the range feature more iconic Basquiat motifs such as the golden crown, graffiti-art and scribbled statements.

Alice + Olivia x Basquiat is a part of the brand’s resort ‘17 range, available in November in stores and online.

The artwork referenced in the line includes Basquiat’s “Beat Bop” (1983), “Replicas” (1983), “Ascent” (1983), “In Italian” (1983), “Panel of Experts” (1982) and “Notary” (1983).

In partnering with the artist’s estate, 50 percent of proceeds from a selection of the collection will benefit the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Alice + Olivia CEO and creative director Stacey Bendet said in a statement that Basquait’s work is “very reflective of my brand.”

“It is also wonderful to be able to raise funds for the CFDA and support their ongoing initiatives within our industry that develop new talent,” Bendet added.
