The holidays are approaching and party hopping is on the agenda. Since making the rounds for cocktails typically means a standing room-only situation, having the right pair of comfortable, yet on-trend evening shoes is essential.
The trick, however, is not letting anyone in on your secret. Shoes should look elegant while providing all the comfort bells and whistles — from gently cushioned insoles to luxuriously soft uppers and heels that are sexy while sensible.
Take a cue from designer Thierry Rabotin, known for his softly crafted collection of upscale looks. According to Rabotin, “I like to design shoes that envelope the feet giving the pleasant sensation of walking barefoot.” For holiday, Rabotin does the Prom, a ’40s-inspired retro style with peek-a-boo toe and gently underslung heel.

Sandals are always a go-to, even during the cold weather. For those who’ve spent all their holiday money on gifts, Aerosoles’ Interlux sandal with a cascade of crystals, is the best of affordable luxury. For a truly luxe look, designer Ron White does the Larisa floating ankle strap style with crystal ornaments.
Comfort is maximized in another of the season’s hottest silhouettes — the wedge. Designer Anyi Lu does her take in the Katie asymmetric strap version, while L’Amour Des Pieds interprets evening wear in the Kamea ankle bootie that works with skinny jeans or leggings.
