Emu Australia Supports WaterAid Through Product Purchase

Emu Australia is using its fashion muscle to help those in need. The Australia-based company has partnered with WaterAid, an international organization whose mission is to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalized people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.

The company was initially drawn to the organization through its new brand ambassador and spring ’16 campaign model, Elyse Knowles, a supporter of the group. “Partnering with WaterAid is an important step for us,” said Paul Neate, Emu Australia managing director. “We know our globally connected consumers care deeply about issues such as safe water for people in the poorest countries, as we do.”

Emu will be making a substantial donation to WaterAid up front, with each product purchase furthering the cause. Money raised will go to aiding 15 communities in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste.

Watch on FN

While the initiative is under way now, it kicks off officially on Feb. 18, in time for World Water Day on March 22, when the world turns its attention to the 750 million people who don’t have access to safe water.
