adidas’ 4D technology continues to release steadily in new styles and colorways in 2020, bringing much-needed availability of the new tech around the world. This week, adidas Consortium’s 4D Runner returns in a new “Crystal White” colorway, launching tomorrow.
adidas first debuted their collaborative midsole technology with Carbon in 2018, and have spent the years since improving both the availability and price of the sought-after liquid-printed technology. Dubbed Futurecraft 4D, the new soles were designed to be adaptable for each wearer, though we are still ways out from that level of custom sneakers. For now, adidas is slowly beginning to alter the design of 4D, changing the way the lattice structure is built to provide better energy return and feedback. This an ongoing process, one which we can see the results of with every passing release, like this week’s new colorway of the Consortium 4D runner which originally helped debut 4D through a series of exclusive collaborations. Now, the sleek runner silhouette is back for some new standard-issue releases like this week’s new “Crystal White” color scheme. This pair begins with the namesake stark white upper constructed from adidas’ premium Primeknit textile. The Three Stripe logos come in plain white, while a bright pink TPU heel counter adds a flash of color to the upper, pairing with the Aero Green 4D midsole to complete the look.
ADIDAS CONSORTIUM 4D RUNNER “ENERGY CONCEPT” RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas Consortium’s first in-line colorway of the 4D Runner, subtitled the Energy Concept, has been scheduled to release later this week, on November 27th, 2020. The next-generation running shoe will be available from both adidas and select retailers with a price tag of approximately $250.
