Japan-based mita Sneakers and adidas have proven themselves to be a formidable duo with their footwear releases. Today, we get out first look at the new “Cages and Coordinates” pack, featuring the Stan Smith and all new NMD_TS1.
The adidas Consortium team has tapped mita Sneakers for their next high-end collaborative release. Titled the “Cages and Coordinates” pack, the two sneakers included pay homage to both partners in very unique ways. The collaboration will mark the debut of the NMD_TS1, a new mid-top silhouette that has been circulating online for some time now, as well as a luxurious take on the Stan Smith. The Stan Smith from the pack takes on the “Coordinates” aspect of the name. The basic construction comes in a premium black leather and features zippers on either side for easy access, as well as coordinates to mita’s Japanese store and the adidas HQ in Germany.
This new NMD, the TS1, builds off of existing design cues like the NMD R1 sole, classic NMD heel tab, and sleek Primeknit ankle collar. The upper is completely redesigned and is a brand new look for the Three Stripes. The sock-like Primeknit upper features a mid-top cut, ending just above the ankle in a similar style to the NMD City Sock 1. However, there is a new lacing system built into the tongue along with Primeknit shroud to cover it. The debut colorway features an all-black knit upper with a chain-link pattern taping covering it as a nod to mita’s signature Instagram product photos.

The mita Sneakers x adidas Consortium “Cages & Coordinates” pack is scheduled to release first at mita on July 7th, 2018, followed by a global release at Consortium stores on July 14th. The all-new NMD_TS1 will retail for $220, while the premium Stan Smith will cost a cool $160.
