The team-up between renowned fashion label Miu Miu and New Balance began early last year, with the two riffing on the classic 574 in a small assortment of colorways. After a few more releases, they have recently unveiled their next project; a modified 530 Mule, coming later this year.
Miu Miu was one of the few high-fashion labels to keep out of the wave of sneaker collaborations that hit us between 2018 and 2022. Likely biding their time, they eventually teamed up with New Balance, an apt choice for their style, to create elevated pairs of classic NB silhouettes. They kicked off their partnership with the 574, before moving on to the 530 and reengineering it with a SuperLight version. Now, the two have previewed their next update to the ’90s model; this time turning it into a Mule.
The next project from Miu Miu and New Balance continues their trend of modifying the 530 with a whole new look. After releasing the OG, they followed up with a SuperLight version with thin midsoles. Now, they’ve kept that thin sole and removed the heel entirely to create a simple laced slip-on. Two styles were shown, one in their signature “Cinnamon” brown, and another in a worn white look. Both were shown with a total of four sets of laces attached.
MIU MIU X NEW BALANCE 530 MULE RELEASE INFORMATION
The latest sneaker adaptation from Miu Miu and New Balance has not been announced for release yet, and likely will not arrive until late in 2024 or in Spring/Summer 2025. The modified 530 Mule will likely release from both partners as well as select retailers, with a price tag over $1,000 if their past releases are any indication.
