New Balance’s 1500 silhouette has seen a spike in special releases since its 30th-anniversary celebration last year, which included several high-profile collaborations and limited-edition drops. This week, the chunky runner returns in a new “Oatmeal” look for Spring 2020.

The New Balance 1500 might be one of the brand’s most important sneakers. Designed by footwear design legend Steven Smith in 1989, the 1500 is a slightly oversized distance running shoe, the silhouette is built to provide comfort and stability on long runs. Constructed from a mix of New Balance’s favorite pigskin suede, tumbled leather, and mesh, all mounted on top of ENCAP cushioning midsole, the 1500 is built for wearing and gets a makeover this week with the new “Oatmeal” getup. Mixing shades of light and dark brown across the upper, this pair also features some surprise hints of turquoise, mostly mixed into the branding around the heels and tongues, and extending inside the shoe onto the branded footbeds.
