New Balance’s 991v2 has added more releases to the 2024 calendar. After debuting in Fall 2023 in collaboration with Stone Island, the Boston brand followed up quickly with a two-piece release from Patta. Then, they filled out their in-line offerings of the Made in England silhouette, adding another this week in a “Brandied Apricot” shade of pink suede.
The New Balance 99x family has grown exponentially since the 990 first released in 1982. Over the years, the Boston brand has continued the numbered seres all the way up to 999, and changing things up with the 1000 model that got a retro release this year. The OG 990 even got five additional variations over the years, with the 990v6 arriving early in 2023. Now, the brand has released the 991v2, an update to the 2001 running shoe with a new midsole, produced strictly through the Made in England program. After several collaborations and in-line debuts, the model has settled in, and is is starting to release in some distinct new styles, like this “Brandied Apricot” pair coming later in 2024.
The MADE program from New Balance focuses their production of sneakers in England and the USA, and is a guarantee of quality materials and workmanship, as well as a fair wage for the people behind each pair. This week, a new “Brandied Apricot” style for the 991v2 has surfaced from the England facilities, trying out a new color combo for New Balance. The look features a lush pink shade across its mesh base and suede overlays, adding hints of dark purple for the subtle branding and midsole gels. ‘N’ logos come in a metallic silver, while a two-tone midsole completes the look.

New Balance’s next colorway of their Made in England 991v2 has not been announced for release yet, but will arrive sometime later in Summer 2024. Dressed in a new “Brandied Apricot” shade of pink suede, the Made modelcomes with its usual price tag of $250.
