New Balance Refreshed the Made in US 1300 With a UCLA-Inspired Colorway

The New Balance 1300 made its return this year, reappearing in the brand’s lineup every five years as we have come to expect. This week, the retro sneaker surfaced in a new soft blue color scheme, with accents to give it a UCLA-inspired look.

Thirty-five years ago, New Balance first released 1300, a sleek running shoe designed for long distances. Since then, the silhouette has evolved into a classic and a true staple of the sneaker world. Now, the Boston-based brand has cut back a bit on their releases of the retro silhouette, only adding it back into their arsenal every five years to keep things fresh, as well as allowing them to retro the original color schemes on a regular basis. As you might expect from crunching the numbers, 2020 is the 35th anniversary of the 1300, and has brought us some exciting new releases in the form of special Made releases and collaborations. This week, the Made in US 1300 released in a new UCLA-inspired color scheme, featuring a light blue suede upper, golden yellow ‘N’ logos, and a white detailing to finish off the look.
