This Summer adidas hosted the Consortium Cup, a bracket voting competition for special collaborations featuring their Consortium partner stores. This week, Nice Kicks’ take on the Samba surfaced ahead of its release in November.
Back in February of this year, adidas announced their Consortium Cup, a knockout-style tournament for sneaker design featuring submissions from 16 partner stores in the Consortium program. After four weeks and four rounds of voting, a number of pairs were approved for release, including Nice Kicks’ take on the Samba. Set to release in November, the West Coast retailer’s simple version of the classic trainer has emerged in sample form this week, giving us our first look at a shoe from the competition. The pair features a premium tumbled leather upper in plain white, adding ‘Talc’ brown overlays for the toes and heels. The Three Stripes are added in a camo-like canvas, with rough edges for a broken-in look. Consortium Cup hangtags and insole branding completes this special release.
