Nike’s Air Max Light 2 Surfaces With Subtle Rainbow Stitching

The Nike Air Max 2 Light has been a hit since it first returned as a part of this year’s Air Max Day celebration. Now, Nike has released a multitude of new & classic colorways, like this subtle rainbow look set to drop soon.

Nike first unleashed the Air Max 2 Light in 1994, during the height of the brand’s Air craze. This release came far after the Swoosh was still learning to control their new technology, and the AML was one of the first silhouette’s to really nail the variable air cushioning. In fact, the Air Max 2 Light contained one of the early iterations of Nike Zoom, an offshoot of air tech that would soon become its own piece of Swoosh history.

This week, the Air Max 2 Light is back with a brand new look for the Summer. The mesh and leather overlays of the sleek silhouette are dyed all in black, making this look like an innocuous colorway at first glance. However, the whole shoe is held together by rainbow stitching, which appears in a brighter orange, red, and yellow tone on the medial side and bold blue on the lateral sides. The upper rests on top of a white midsole with red and orange accents on the outsole.

Nike’s latest colorway of the famous Air Max 2 Light has not yet been officially announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime soon. The rainbow-stitched iteration will likely carry the AML2’s $140 price tag, and release from both Nike and select retailers.
